Nina M. Ghareeb, M. Ac., Lic. Ac. graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1997. She maintains two private practices, one in Cambridge and the other in Reading. For eighteen
years she was the senior acupuncturist at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates as part of their Alternative Paths to Health program. There she worked with doctors, nurses, massage therapists, and chiropractors in an effort to combine the best of all the modalities for the best possible treatment outcome. In 2016 the program was eliminated and she moved to Cambridge Health Associates. She is gentle, caring, and compassionate and believes in spending time with each patient in order to develop the most effective specifically targeted treatment plan for each unique individual. Her philosophy is that we are partners in healing where the patient brings an expert knowledge of their body and the practitioner that same knowledge of acupuncture.
She is pleasant and lighthearted, hoping to make the visit as enjoyable as possible, something patients will look forward to, not dread. She is extensively trained, having received a Masters degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1997, then traveling to China to study at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center. She has also studied with Kiiko Matsumoto, David Euler, Jeffrey Yuan, Lonny Jarrett, Giovannni Maciocia, and Lillian Bridges. She has taken courses in Five Element, Tom Tam style, and two styles of Japanese acupuncture. She has additional training in Western Herbs and completed a certificate program with Rosemary Gladstar, This, combined with years of experience, puts her in a unique position to synthesize what from each tradition would be most beneficial for each patient. She is licensed and certified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, no. 593. She is also well versed in Clean Needle Technique, ensuring cleanliness standards and HIPPA compliant, ensuring privacy. Prior to her acupuncture training she earned a Bachelors in Classical Civilizations from the University of Southern California in 1991.
When not at work, she enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, music, travel, adventures, yoga, and capoeira.
